Where the exchange rates come from

The hryvnia rates against the zloty, euro and dollar are the official rates of the National Bank of Ukraine (bank.gov.ua), set for each working day and fetched automatically.

Why the rate at a bank or kantor differs

The NBU rate is a reference rate. Banks and exchange offices (kantor) set their own buy and sell rates with a margin, so the actual amount you get differs.
